Gyrotechnix

Two days after the warning about the technical problems, Parc Astérix had better news. Toutatis had reopened after the issue was resolved, according to the park. Looopings added that Chez Gyrofolix was also available to guests again.

For the family ride, the length of the closure was the important detail. The ride next to Toutatis had been out of service for more than a week because of a malfunction. Its return meant guests in Festival Toutatis could once again choose between the large launch coaster and the more approachable Zamperla attraction on the nearby hill.

The report underlines how important Chez Gyrofolix is to the balance of the area. Toutatis draws the headlines and is the park’s most popular coaster, but the neighbouring family ride prevents Festival Toutatis from being only about extreme thrills. Once both attractions were operating again, the land regained its normal rhythm: spectacle for coaster fans, visual movement for spectators and an alternative for guests who skip the coaster.

In June 2025, Parc Astérix warned guests that Toutatis was temporarily closed after a fault in the electrical network. The park did not give a reopening date and said technical teams, together with manufacturer Intamin, were working on a solution. In the same report, Looopings also highlighted Chez Gyrofolix: the family ride next to Toutatis had already been closed for more than a week because of technical problems.

For guests, that made the disruption larger than the loss of the park’s most famous coaster. Festival Toutatis temporarily missed both of its key ride experiences: the spectacular coaster for thrill seekers and the Zamperla ride that provides a more accessible alternative in the same area.

The article is historically relevant because it shows that the young themed area, opened in 2023, also faced operational setbacks after its highly publicised debut. Looopings also mentioned the delay of the new spinning coaster Cétautomatix, placing the Chez Gyrofolix downtime within a broader period of technical communication for Parc Astérix.

Shortly after Festival Toutatis opened, Looopings published a photo report from the new themed area at Parc Astérix. The launch coaster Toutatis naturally received much of the attention, but the report also made clear how Chez Gyrofolix fits into the land.

The ride is described as a Zamperla NebulaZ placed on a hill next to the coaster. Its four rotating arms sweep closely past one another, making the attraction as striking to watch as it is to ride. For guests who find Toutatis too intense, Chez Gyrofolix offers a more approachable experience within the same setting.

The photos show the ride as part of a complete Gallic village devoted to the god Toutatis. The area is filled with standing stones, jokes inspired by the Asterix comics and a large statue at its centre. That gives Chez Gyrofolix a broader role than simply adding capacity. It brings movement, family appeal and visual energy to Festival Toutatis beside the headline coaster.
