News about Cornwall Coaster

In May 2026, Hansa-Park was finally able to open the long-awaited Cornwall Coaster. Looopings reported that the ride had entered service the previous weekend after approval from TÜV and test runs with staff and project team members. The opening happened without a major ceremony, but the news itself was striking: the coaster previously announced with six launches turned out to feature seven in its final version. That gave the family coaster an even stronger identity. Built by Gerstlauer, Cornwall Coaster stands in Bezauberndes Britannien. It is 18 metres tall, 570 metres long, reaches 50 kilometres per hour and uses a switch-track system to send riders over the same sections several times. There are no inversions, but the ride plays with direction, repetition and timing as guests move forward and backward, including through a dead-end spike. Director Christoph Andreas Leicht especially stressed the smoothness of the ride and the carefully executed layout. He described it as a coaster for the whole family, without unpleasant movements. The theming is another key selling point: rocky landscapes, detailed buildings and specially composed music bring the English county of Cornwall into Hansa-Park's British area.

In March 2026, Cornwall Coaster moved from concept art to a visible construction site. Looopings covered a mini-documentary in which Hansa-Park took fans behind the scenes of the new launch coaster in the British-themed area. Despite delays caused by winter weather, the track and station building were now standing and test runs were about to begin. The project therefore gained a new sense of reality: the six launches were no longer just a promise on paper, but part of a nearly ready family ride. The article sharpened the key technical details. Guests would travel around 570 metres, reach about 50 kilometres per hour, rise to a maximum of 18 metres and ride in twenty-seat trains. One of the most distinctive elements is the spike, a dead-end section that fits the forward-and-backward character of the coaster. The thematic work also received attention. Gerstlauer built the ride, Andreas Kübler of Audiogazer composed the music and Hansa-Park promised careful detail in the scenery. For theme park fans, this was the moment Cornwall Coaster began to look like more than a technical gimmick: it was becoming a fully themed family experience.

In October 2025, Hansa-Park's new coaster became much easier to picture. Looopings reported that the park had shared concept designs for Cornwall Coaster, the six-launch family coaster planned for the following year. The first announcement had focused mainly on statistics and ride technology, but these images showed the atmosphere Hansa-Park wanted to create: black track weaving through rocks, buildings with a British character and a train whose front car would resemble a small locomotive. The update also confirmed the ride's location in Bezauberndes Britannien, close to another still-mysterious project around Palacio de Braga. Technically, the core remained the same: an 18-metre Gerstlauer family coaster with three forward and three backward launches, a top speed of 50 kilometres per hour and a switch-track system that lets riders experience the same sections in different ways. For fans, this was the moment the project moved from abstract announcement to recognisable attraction. The Cornwall Coaster name gave the ride a clear British coastal identity and showed how Hansa-Park wanted to combine scenery, story and engineering.

In March 2025, Hansa-Park gave the first concrete look at the new family coaster that would later become Cornwall Coaster. In a YouTube video, director and owner Christoph Andreas Leicht said the north German park would open a Gerstlauer coaster in 2026 with an unusual ride pattern: three forward and three backward launches. That immediately made clear that this was not a standard children's coaster, but a compact family ride with a strong technical hook. The coaster was planned to reach 18 metres, cover about 570 metres of track, hit 50 kilometres per hour and use trains seating twenty riders. Its location mattered too: Bezauberndes Britannien, already home to rides such as Highlander, Royal Scotsman and Nessie. For fans, the announcement fitted into Hansa-Park's larger Best Kept Secret project, which the park had been developing in phases for years. The family coaster was only one part of that broader plan, but it promised extra ride capacity and a fresh technical showcase for the British area.
