Awilda’s Lookout

After delays caused by the Covid crisis, Hansa-Park could finally show Awildas Welt to visitors in June 2021. The refreshed pirate area brought together two new family-oriented attractions: the water ride Awilda’s Adventure Ride and the 11-metre drop tower Awilda’s Lookout. The area therefore gained not only new capacity, but also recognisable rockwork and a clear place within the broader Hanse in Europa theming.

For guests, the opening meant that a long-announced project finally became tangible. The attractions had originally been planned earlier, but the pandemic pushed both planning and construction back. Awilda’s Lookout was therefore not opened as an isolated tower; it was part of a package with which Hansa-Park reimagined the space left by the removed Die Glocke. For families, that created a gentler adventure area with water, pirate fantasy and a compact thrill. Historically, this article marks the transition from delayed building plans to real operation: Awildas Welt finally became a place where visitors could ride, look around and experience the park’s new thematic direction.

For the 2020 season, the park announced an expansion with two family-focused attractions: a water ride for younger visitors and a new 11-meter drop tower. Awildas Ausguck was therefore positioned as a smaller counterpart to the park's existing towers, including the much more intense Highlander and the child-friendly Odins Luftreise.
