Europa-Park tests single rider queue at water park
Europa-Park tested a single rider queue at Vinter Rytt in Rulantica in 2023. The trial helped staff fill four-person rafts more efficiently while keeping the required weight distribution.
More context
In August 2023, Vinter Rytt became the setting for a notable operational test in Rulantica: Europa-Park reserved a separate queue for single riders. Floor stickers marked the new line, aimed at guests visiting or queuing alone. The trial was spotted by fansite Europa Park Forever and showed how staff were trying to fill the slide's large rafts more efficiently.
That approach made sense for Vinter Rytt in particular. Guests ride in four-person rafts, but because of weight distribution rules a raft may only depart with either two or four riders. Groups of three can therefore leave an empty place. A single rider queue allowed operators to fill those gaps and improve throughput without changing the safety requirements.
Looopings also placed the trial in the context of the attraction itself. Vinter Rytt is a 19-metre-high, 153-metre-long ProSlide water slide from 2019, with a tall halfpipe as its signature moment. For visitors, the pilot showed Rulantica looking for smarter ways to manage queues at one of its more intense slides.
