Splash Lagoon strengthens the dinosaur area around Velociraptor
Paultons Park opened Splash Lagoon in Lost Kingdom, placing Velociraptor even more clearly within a wider dinosaur area built around several family attractions.
More context
In May 2024, Paultons Park expanded Lost Kingdom with Splash Lagoon, a family-friendly mini-flume from ABC Engineering. The new water ride sends families past prehistoric creatures and lush scenery before a modest splash, adding another layer of movement and capacity to the dinosaur-themed area around Velociraptor.
For Velociraptor, the news matters because Looopings places the coaster clearly within the full Lost Kingdom line-up. The themed area is not built around a single ride: it includes the Vekoma Family Boomerang Velociraptor, Flight of the Pterosaur, Dino Chase, The Dinosaur Tour Co. and Boulder Dash. Splash Lagoon added a water attraction to that mix, making the land feel broader than a cluster of coasters and dry family rides.
That changes how visitors experience Velociraptor. The coaster sits inside a more complete prehistoric zone, with attractions aimed at different ages and thrill levels. The opening also underlined how important Lost Kingdom has become for Paultons Park, with the park again stressing its focus on detailed theming. Velociraptor therefore reads less like a standalone family coaster and more like one of the anchor attractions in a growing dinosaur landscape.
