A striking TikTok video put Goudurix back in the spotlight. Filmed on Sunday 5 April 2026, the footage appeared to show a component coming loose near one of the coaster's seven inversions and flying away from the train. Witnesses said the wheel then landed in the queue area, and when the train later passed the camera, a wheel seemed to be missing. Looopings linked the moment to data from the official Parc Astérix app, which showed Goudurix unavailable between 16:45 and 17:45 that Sunday. In the following days, the coaster operated normally again. Parc Astérix did not answer questions from the outlet and also stayed silent in the comments below the video. The timing made the incident especially sensitive, because Goudurix had received new Vekoma trains in 2025. For visitors and fans, the story was not only about a dramatic clip, but also about trust in a classic Vekoma coaster that has been part of Parc Astérix since 1989.

Goudurix's renewal received an unusual follow-up outside the park in 2026. An old car from the Parc Astérix coaster appeared on Marktplaats with an asking price of 1,200 euros. According to the listing, the car had served from 1989 to 2024 and came with a certificate of authenticity. The seller presented it as a rare collector's item and stated that the safety system was still in working order. The car could be collected in Riemst, near Maastricht, with help available for loading it onto transport. Looopings noted that the asking price was far above the original sale price: the park had reportedly sold the component itself for 250 euros. For fans, an item like this is more than a quirky object. It represents the first 35 years of a coaster that became a frequent topic in European theme park circles because of its seven inversions, Vekoma design and rough reputation. The sale showed that the old Goudurix trains gained collector value after their replacement.

The new trains for Goudurix generated more than technical news; they also prompted a notable reaction from elsewhere in the theme park world. Walibi Belgium replied below a Parc Astérix TikTok video with self-deprecating humour, wondering whether Goudurix would now become more comfortable than Vampire, the Belgian park's own Vekoma suspended coaster. According to Looopings, the joke landed well and collected more than four hundred likes. The moment matters because it places Goudurix's reputation in a wider family. Vampire, Condor at Walibi Holland and Goudurix were all built by Vekoma and are often discussed by fans as examples of rougher ride experiences. Walibi Belgium, Walibi Holland and Parc Astérix also belong to the same group, Compagnie des Alpes. For visitors, a social-media joke does not change the ride itself. For the history of Goudurix, however, it says plenty: the new trains became news because the coaster's reputation was strong enough for sister parks to play with it publicly.
