Just before the 2019 season, Parc Astérix released a first teaser for Attention Menhir, a new 4D film starring Asterix and Obelix in Les Studios Idéfix.
More context
Shortly before the 2019 season began, Parc Astérix gave fans their first look at Attention Menhir. The new 4D film put Asterix and Obelix back at the centre of the park, just as Parc Astérix was preparing to celebrate its thirtieth anniversary. Looopings reported that a short teaser had appeared on YouTube for the film, which was created especially for the park.
The attraction received its own 300-seat theatre: Les Studios Idéfix. The name referred to the animation studio active in the 1970s, giving the project a neat link to the comic roots of the Asterix world. The experience was not limited to the screen. Water, light, wind and scent effects were promised, bringing the mayhem around the menhir into the auditorium itself.
For visitors, Attention Menhir offered a family-friendly new experience without coaster thrills, but with physical effects and instantly recognisable characters. In the attraction's history, the preview marks a return to the core identity of Parc Astérix: the comic heroes themselves, presented through a modern 4D format.
