Swedish theme park presents a new version of the classic break dance
Liseberg officially opened Kraftverket in early July 2025. The Break Dance 5 delivers a fast, whirling ride with 3.5 g while also serving as a modern nod to the classic break dance that once operated at Liseberg.
More context
By early July 2025, Kraftverket had moved from announcement to operating attraction. Looopings reported that the official opening had taken place on Friday, presenting Huss Park Attractions' Break Dance 5 to Liseberg guests. The park described the ride as a fast, whirling carousel that challenges passengers from the very first moment. With forces of up to 3.5 g and capacity for forty riders per cycle, Kraftverket is clearly more than a gentle family ride. The layout adds another distinctive detail: the operator sits in the centre of the disc, surrounded by the moving gondolas. For Liseberg, the attraction is part of a new themed area connecting the Grand Curiosa Hotel with the older parts of the park. Its futuristic power-station design gives the route a clear identity and ties the name Kraftverket directly to the experience. Nostalgia is part of the story too. Liseberg operated a classic break dance between 1987 and 1993, so this opening feels like a modern return of a familiar ride family. Director Andreas Andersen said the plan had existed since 2016, making the opening more than a seasonal novelty: a long-held park ambition finally became visible to guests.
