Cinema 4D Experience: Prezzemolo e l'Enigma Svelato

For the 2022 season Gardaland again turned to a DC production for its 4D cinema. After Wonder Woman, Aquaman arrived in the theatre as a special adaptation of the 2018 Warner Bros. film. Looopings described how high-resolution 3D images and special effects were meant to take visitors into Atlantis, the underwater kingdom of the superhero. The original film by director James Wan runs almost two and a half hours, but Gardaland reduced it to a short montage suitable for a park auditorium. That kept the 4D cinema operating as a rotating film platform, where familiar cinema titles became compact experiences with added physical sensation. Aquaman did not simply replace the previous programme. The park planned to alternate the new film with the Wonder Woman film that had been running since 2019. For visitors, that meant more variety within the same attraction location. Historically, the choice also fits a clear line in the theatre’s recent past: Gardaland built a sequence of blockbuster adaptations in the Time Voyagers and Cinema 4D Experience venue, moving from San Andreas to Wonder Woman and then Aquaman.

At the end of 2019 Gardaland announced a new superhero film for the Time Voyagers theatre. Wonder Woman: The 4D Experience was scheduled to open in the large cinema hall from spring 2020. The attraction combined a 3D compilation of the 2017 feature film with in-theatre effects such as wind and water. It marked another shift in tone for the 4D cinema: after San Andreas, Gardaland moved to a recognisable DC heroine with a clear adventure profile. The story followed Diana, princess of the Amazons, as she left her island to save the outside world. Gal Gadot starred in the footage used as the basis for the attraction version. For visitors, the change mattered because the same theatre could feel like a different attraction from season to season. San Andreas had leaned on earthquake spectacle and disaster tension; Wonder Woman brought mythology, action and superhero fantasy into the 4D format. The timing also gave the choice extra context, arriving before the planned 2020 cinema release of Wonder Woman 1984 and linking the park experience to wider attention around the character.

In 2018 Gardaland put a new film at the heart of the Time Voyagers theatre. The San Andreas 4-D Experience was planned as a compact attraction version of the 2015 disaster movie, running about fifteen minutes from the spring season. Looopings reported that the production used original footage from the film, expanded with 3D and in-theatre special effects. That made the show more than a regular cinema screening: the attraction relied on image, sound and room effects to turn a familiar blockbuster into a park experience. For visitors, the venue itself mattered too. Time Voyagers had a screen thirteen metres wide and six metres high, giving the disaster scenes the scale needed for a shared audience attraction. The news also showed how Gardaland kept refreshing its 4D cinema instead of leaving the same film in place for years. After earlier programmes built around Ice Age and SpongeBob SquarePants, the park moved to a Hollywood action title with a broader thrill appeal. The timing connected the change to the new operating season, with Gardaland due to reopen on 29 March.
