In April 2024, Futuroscope opened a new family attraction in Futuropolis: Hydro Dynamo. Looopings described it as a twelve-metre wild swing built by the German supplier ART Engineering. It gave the French park a compact but noticeable addition to the part of the resort aimed especially at younger guests and families.
The attraction is themed as a hydroelectric power plant. During the ride, a large swinging bench with two rows of eight seats is thrown into motion. Riders do not go upside down, so Hydro Dynamo focuses on movement, a sense of height and playful suspense rather than extreme thrills. In earlier promotional material, Futuroscope had used the name La Centrale Hydroélec.
For visitors, the opening matters because Futuroscope continues to broaden its offer beyond films, technology and larger multimedia attractions. Hydro Dynamo adds a more physical family ride to Futuropolis and sits alongside other 2024 investments, including a children's water ride, a cinema room and the indoor water park Aquascope. For fans, the Compagnie des Alpes connection is also notable: sister park Familypark had recently opened a similar ride.
