Bellewaerde Park shows behind the scenes of its biggest investment yet
A construction tour made Hampi Playground concrete for the first time: a 400-square-metre play area next to Hampi, designed as an Indian temple. It was due to open just weeks later with the start of the season.

In early March 2023, Looopings joined a tour for journalists and fans along Bellewaerde's construction sites. The park was preparing six new additions and investing a record 17 million euros. For Hampi Playground, the article provided the clearest construction update: next to the new Hampi ride in the India area, opposite the leopards, work was underway on a play area designed as an Indian temple.
The report also named Hampi Playground directly within the renewal programme. The play area would cover 400 square metres and sit right beside the Hampi Nebulaz ride. That showed how Bellewaerde was not simply adding another ride to the India area, but building a more complete family zone where play, viewing and themed design came together.
The timing added urgency. The new season was due to start three and a half weeks later, on Saturday 1 April. Alongside Hampi Playground, Bellewaerde was still working on Psssht Station, refreshed animal habitats and The King's Table restaurant. The article captures the moment when the playground moved from planning concept to almost-open new attraction.
