Amazonia is the headline water ride in Mundo Amazonia and feels like a modern take on the classic rapids ride. The boats regularly leave the familiar channel for elevated sections packed with turns, lifts and gliding transitions, before finishing in a striking halfpipe. With its mix of water, height and unusual ride elements, this is a family attraction with noticeably more bite than a gentle river float.
Bellewaerde lists a 1,772-foot layout, an 85-foot height, a top speed of 8.7 mph, capacity for 960 riders per hour, a six-minute ride time and 2024 as the construction year. Intamin describes Amazonia as a next-generation Rapids Ride with an Inclined Lift, Rotating Vertical Lift, Halfpipe and the first Bungee Drop on a Rapids Ride. Coasterpedia gives April 20, 2024 as the opening date, while Intamin reported a reopening on April 5, 2025 after halfpipe changes including a guide rail and an improved water pump.
