Wait times at Disney Adventure World, PortAventura & Thorpe Park

Disney Adventure World led Europe’s wait times, PortAventura had a sharp peak, and Rulantica, Nigloland and Walibi Holland delivered some wonderfully quiet windows.

Wait times at Disney Adventure World, PortAventura & Thorpe Park

Here’s our cheerful wait-time rewind for 19 June 10:00 to 20 June 10:00. Europe had some proper queue action, but also a few lovely low-wait surprises for smart park fans.

Europe’s busiest parks

The strongest European averages came from France, Spain and the UK:

  • Disney Adventure World averaged 34 minutes, with a maximum of 100 minutes.
  • PortAventura averaged 26 minutes and peaked at 110 minutes.
  • Ferrari Land averaged 22 minutes, topping out at 70 minutes.
  • Thorpe Park was close behind with an average of 22 minutes and a maximum of 75 minutes.

At Disney Adventure World, Crush's Coaster was the clear queue magnet: an average of 71 minutes and a peak of 100 minutes. A chunky line, absolutely, but also a classic sign of where the thrill crowd was gathering.

PortAventura spiked early, Thorpe Park later

PortAventura showed a fantastic contrast. Around 11:00, the average dipped to just 1.25 minutes. One hour later, around 12:00, the busiest-hour average jumped to 110 minutes. The headliners joined the party: Furius Baco reached 110 minutes, while Uncharted and Shambhala both hit 90 minutes.

At Thorpe Park, the sweet spot was earlier. Around 10:00, the average was only 5 minutes. By 15:00, the park’s busy-hour average had climbed to 71 minutes. Early starters clearly had the upper hand.

Quiet surprises: Rulantica, Nigloland and Walibi Holland

Between the headline queues, a few parks served up proper low-wait treats:

  • Rulantica stayed around 1 minute between 09:00 and 10:00 on both measured mornings, across 13 attractions.
  • Nigloland averaged 4.88 minutes between 10:00 and 11:00, with a maximum of 5 minutes.
  • Walibi Holland had a beautifully even quiet hour between 16:00 and 17:00: average and maximum both 5 minutes.

That’s the kind of window coaster fans dream of: rerides, relaxed snacks and no frantic zigzagging across the park.

Maintenance and temporary downtime

At Efteling, Fata Morgana was in maintenance throughout the full measurement period. At Flamingo Land, Little Monsters Wacky Races was also in maintenance for the entire window.

At Parque Warner Madrid, the maintenance list included LEX LUTHOR, Academia de pilotos Baby Looney Tunes and Expedientes Warren. At Movie Park Germany, temporary outages stood out at attractions including Time Riders, Rescue 112, Star Trek™: Operation Enterprise and Ghost Chasers.

There were also some late starts. At Futuroscope, Pulse ! The Electric Odyssey first appeared open around 16:02, more than six hours after its scheduled opening. Several water attractions there first appeared around 14:01. At LEGOLAND Deutschland, Kids Power Tower first appeared open around 15:03.

Closing-time tip for night owls

PortAventura had useful signals around closing. At 19:04, four minutes after the scheduled close, queues still appeared active at Silver River Flume with 45 minutes, Uncharted with 40 minutes and Furius Baco with 30 minutes. That is not an official extension, but it is a practical reminder: if you stay late, check your favourite ride just before closing.

Chessington showed a similar closing-time signal around 17:02, with The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure at 35 minutes and River Rafts at 30 minutes.

Global outliers, without stealing Europe’s spotlight

Outside Europe, Tokyo DisneySea was a major outlier with a 56-minute park average. Soaring: Fantastic Flight and Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey both averaged well above 150 minutes. In the US, the data also suggested that Knott's Berry Farm and SeaWorld Orlando may have kept operating queues well after scheduled closing, with evidence at GhostRider, HangTime and Expedition Odyssey. Not an official changed closing time, but definitely a fun data nugget for queue watchers.

Practical tip: don’t blindly start with the biggest name. Yesterday, PortAventura was surprisingly calm around 11:00, while Disney Adventure World became much friendlier around 22:00.
