The last 24 hours brought plenty of movement in European wait times. At the top of the European averages was Disney Adventure World, with an average wait of 31.59 minutes and a peak of 95 minutes. Right behind it, Futuroscope stood out with a 26.65-minute average and a maximum of 98 minutes.
LEGOLAND Windsor and PortAventura were almost neck and neck: 24.30 versus 24.27 minutes on average. Chessington completed the busy European group at 22.14 minutes.
Chiapas takes the European wait-time crown
The standout European ride was clearly Chiapas - DIE Wasserbahn at Phantasialand. The water ride averaged 69.07 minutes and reached a maximum of 120 minutes. On a warm June day, a splashy favourite pulling a big crowd is hardly a surprise, but that was still a serious queue.
PortAventura also produced some chunky peaks. Tutuki Splash reached 90 minutes, Furius Baco hit 80 minutes and Silver River Flume also climbed to 80 minutes. It was one of those days when water, speed and shade all become hot property.
Outside Europe, the global outliers were even bigger: Mine Cart Madness™ at Universal Studios Japan averaged 170.63 minutes, while Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey at Tokyo DisneySea averaged 154.26 minutes. Impressive numbers, but today’s European story stayed firmly with Disney Adventure World, Futuroscope and Phantasialand.
Possible extra operating time at Parc Astérix, Phantasialand and Europa-Park
Here’s a tasty data signal for fans who love one last ride. At Parc Astérix, the data suggests the park likely kept operating beyond its scheduled 19:00 close. Waits were still visible until 20:48 on several rides that had been busy earlier, adding up to an estimated 108 extra minutes. Evidence rides included Toutatis, Menhir Express, OzIris, Pégase Express and La Descente du Nil.
Phantasialand showed a similar signal. After the scheduled 18:00 close, waits remained visible until 19:01 at Chiapas, River Quest and Taron. That points to around 61 extra minutes, but important note: this is a data-driven indication, not an official confirmation of changed opening hours.
Europa-Park showed the same kind of pattern until 19:01 after a scheduled 18:00 close, with Voletarium and Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac as the evidence rides.
Late starters and closing-time tactics
The most striking late start came from LEGOLAND Windsor: Destiny's Bounty was first seen open at 16:06, 366 minutes after its scheduled opening. Splash Safari followed there with a 242-minute delay. At Heide Park, DAMPFKARUSSELL started 182 minutes late, while PortAventura saw later starts for Templo del Fuego, Uncharted, Stampida, Tomahawk and Shambhala.
For closing-time hunters, LEGOLAND Windsor was especially interesting. Around 18:01, one minute after scheduled close, queues still appeared to be open at thirteen rides that had been busy earlier, including Hydra's Challenge and Pirate Falls Treasure Quest at 60 minutes. PortAventura showed a similar signal around 20:02 at Furius Baco, Tutuki Splash and Uncharted. This is not extra opening time, but it is a useful fan tip: keep watching those final minutes.
Quiet surprises
Among all the queue drama, there were some cheerful calm spots too. Rulantica stayed almost everywhere at 1 minute between 09:00 and 10:00. Nigloland had a very friendly 10:00 to 11:00 window with both average and maximum wait at 5 minutes.
The planning signals were nicely practical:
- Futuroscope was tough around 12:00, averaging 92.5 minutes, but dropped to 5.5 minutes around 21:00.
- PortAventura peaked around 13:00 at a 90-minute average, while 14:00 looked surprisingly soft at 2.5 minutes.
- Chessington was busiest in the tip data around 16:00, but around 14:00 it sat near 5 minutes.
Maintenance and temporary downtime
At Efteling, the wider day also had some fan chatter around queue experiments and attraction tweaks. In the wait-time data, Baron 1898 was unavailable throughout the full measurement window due to a temporary outage, while Fata Morgana was in maintenance throughout the window. That maintenance note matters: it should be treated as maintenance, not as a ride breakdown.
At Parque Warner Madrid, Expedientes Warren and LEX LUTHOR had long temporary outages, later joined by Río Bravo and Rápidos ACME. At Disneyland Paris, Main Street Vehicles, Autopia and Frontierland Playground were unavailable for parts of the day.

Heading out today? Check your park’s live page just before you leave, and in busy European parks aim for water rides early or late. Also keep an eye on closing time: at LEGOLAND Windsor, PortAventura, Chessington and Efteling, some queues looked especially interesting in those final minutes.
