Phantasialand wait times: Taron, F.L.Y. or Black Mamba first?

Taron and F.L.Y. need 130 cm, Black Mamba 140 cm. How to pick the first Phantasialand ride from the live board, and what to do indoors when outside climbs.

Phantasialand wait times are almost always about three rides: Taron, F.L.Y. and Black Mamba. The rest of the park is large, but these three decide whether the day works. Which one you do first is on the Phantasialand live wait times that morning. A fixed order is old tomorrow.

Types and heights are also in all Phantasialand roller coasters. This page is the choice on the board.

The three boards

Ride Minimum height Profile
Taron 130 cm Intamin, about 117 km/h, no inversions.
F.L.Y. 130 cm Vekoma, about 78 km/h, two inversions. You lie down.
Black Mamba 140 cm B&M, about 80 km/h, four inversions. The strictest height of the three.

Under 130 cm both Taron and F.L.Y. drop out. Between 130 and 140 cm those two remain and Black Mamba stays closed to you. That is the family question before you walk into Klugheim.

When the board climbs

Chiapas is the water ride: 120 cm, and you get wet. Useful when the three headliners are all high and you want a different kind of wait, not if you want to stay dry.

Indoors, when November brings rain: Mystery Castle (130 cm, drop tower of about 62 m), Crazy Bats (100 cm, indoor coaster) and Maus-au-Chocolat (90 cm). They do not replace Taron. They keep the day moving when the outdoor board or the weather turns.

How to choose

  1. Check the opening hours. Phantasialand is compact; a short day hurts more than in a park where you are walking anyway.
  2. Of Taron and F.L.Y., take the lower one if you clear 130 cm.
  3. Black Mamba only if 140 cm fits and the board is not already the most expensive of the three.
  4. Use the planning tips the day before, when enough measured days sit underneath.
  5. Put the board next to another park with comparing park boards if you can still choose where to drive.

Speeds and heights come from the W8baan attraction profiles. The sign at the entrance wins.
